Hyped Up Manuka Honey

Manuka Honey is derived from a medicinal plant in New Zealand and sold all over the world for medicinal purposes. The basic properties of the honey are the same as all honey – locally produced or otherwise. In talking with Ross Conrad, a renowned natural beekeeper, he suggested that any honey could provide the benefits that Manuka Honey could exhibit. Since honey has been used in medicinal applications since ancient times, I tend to believe this train of thought.

Medicinal Applications in Apitherapy:

Natural antibacterial and antibiotic properties – Manuka honey contains high levels of hydrogen peroxide. This makes the honey a very powerful antibacterial agent. It also contains methylglyoxal (MG) which is a portent antibiotic substance. Although this substance is found in most honey, it is highly concentrated in manuka honey. Therefore, this honey has major antibacterial properties.

Treatment of Small Intestine Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO), Acid Reflux and Low stomach acid  – Low stomach acid and small intestine bacterial overgrowth go hand in hand. Manuka honey contains natural antibiotic properties and can be used in the treatment of these stomach disorders. In fact, it is ideal for any bacteria related illness.

Acne and eczema – Acne and eczema are caused by bacteria and without early treatment; they can damage your skin. These two skin disorders are common among teens and some adults as well. Manuka honey contains proven healing properties and when used on a regular basis, this honey can significantly treat and eliminate the acne sports and leave your skin looking beautiful and healthy.

Improves oral health – Bacteria are the number one enemy for healthy teeth. Manuka honey can considerably improve your oral health. Research shows that this honey can help in preventing gingivitis and dental caries. Therefore, for enhanced oral health you should consider consuming manuka honey on a regular basis.

Treats burns, wounds and skin ulcers – Due to its antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, manuka honey is an excellent topical treatment for burns, damaged skin, wounds and skin ulcers. It can also be used in the treatment of diabetic wounds. It is important to point out that diabetic wounds take longer to heal than any other wound.

Stomach ulcers – The leading cause for stomach ulcers is a particular type of bacteria called H. Pylori. Apart from causing stomach ulcers, these bacteria are responsible for other gastric problems. Studies show that manuka honey can help in treating stomach ulcers and eliminating the bacteria that causes the stomach ulcers. Research also shows that this type of honey helps in the treatment of several gastrointestinal disorders and improves the health of the small and large intestine

Honey is such an amazing product – we love to offer the freshest, most delicious Real Texas Honey around! I love that the Manuka brand has been noticed worldwide by medical professionals, but I think we’ve got some work to do researching the benefits of all honey in addition to the benefits of honey produced from specific, especially medicinal plants.
